This Thursday night, September the 6th, the 21st season of NLRA action comes to a close with the annual running of the 'Prelude to the Johnny' at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, which will kick off the twelfth annual John Seitz Memorial weekend. This Thursday's event will be the 37th time the Speedway has hosted the series since 1999.

Brad Seng, driver of the No. 12S Anderson Brothers Body Shop MB Custom, scored his first NLRA series win of the season last Saturday night at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND. The win is Seng's 36th career series triumph, which furthers his lead atop the all-time wins list.

For the third time in his career, Donny Schatz, driver of the No. 15 Fargo Petro Rocket, won the NLRA feature, and followed that up with winning the World of Outlaws Sprint Car main event at the River Cities Speedway. The win in the Late Model is his second of the season, and his seventh with the series overall. That puts him in a tie with current series regular Troy Schill, driver of the No. 11 Mid Ag Dispatch MasterSbilt, and former series champion Troy Olson.

This Saturday night, August the 18th, the NLRA will co-headline for the third and final time this season with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND. The race is scheduled to be the eleventh appearance by the series to the third-mile oval on the Red River Valley Fairgrounds.

This Friday night, August the 17th, the NLRA will co-headline with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for the second time this season at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. The race is scheduled to be the 36th visit to the quarter-mile, high-banked oval on the Grand Forks Fairgrounds, and the third of the 2018 season. This Thursday night, August the 16th, the NLRA will make it's lone trip to the great white north, as the Red River Co-Op Speedway will host the series for the 28th time. The fourth-tenths mile semi-banked oval was the sight of the inaugural NLRA event twenty years ago, and will be the site of the fifth annual Can-Am Late Model Challenge.

Donny Schatz, driver of the No. 15 Fargo Petro Rocket, scored his first NLRA feature win of the season last Sunday night at the Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND. The win is his sixth career NLRA feature win, which puts him in a tie with Pat Doar, Kevin Sexton, and Dale Skytland for thirteenth on the series all-time wins list.

Two-time and defending NLRA series champion Ricky Weiss, driver of the No. 7 Hawkeye Construction Bloomquist, came out on top in a battle that had all drivers in the top seven with a shot at the win last Friday night at the River Cities Speedway.
